Clinical training in adult surgery: Fellows receive training in all aspects of general face and body cosmetic surgery.
Scope: The Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship provides exposure not only to a wide range of simple and complex cosmetic surgeries, but also incorporates non-surgical rejuvenation procedures including fillers, peels and the use of some new emerging technologies.
Combined training: The fellowship has made special provisions for observation in other surgical sites around the city. This allows our fellows to learn from other specialty trained surgeons and get a wide spectrum of training experience.
Meetings and research: Cosmetic surgery fellows are encouraged to attend the annual AACS meeting related to the art of cosmetic surgery, and are required to complete one research project during their fellowship year. Time allowance will also be given for various other conferences and training courses that he/she may attend.
Goals: At the completion of the Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship, our graduates are well equipped for either community or academic practice with strong skills and technical ability.
They will have had an exposure to general face and body cosmetic surgery and prepared for certification examination given by American Boardof Cosmetic Surgery board.
Regional attractions: Beverly Hills is a friendly area providing an outstanding environment for fun and recreation with shopping, beaches, sunshine, celebrities and exquisite dining. The city offers theatre, professional sports, college sports, opera, symphony, and the leading edge of Hollywood and coastal living.
The surgical clinic operates from 7:30am to 5pm throughout the week, and some weekends.
Daily activities include client consultations, pre-op and post-op patients in the Beverly Hills office, as well as time in the operating room.
Fellows are expected to have read about the technical aspects of a procedure, including post operative care and complications before each and every case.
They are responsible for post operative documentation including post op notes and case logs for the AACS.
Fellows will be required to have an active California medical license, DEA number and medical malpractice insurance prior to any interaction with patients.
Case presentations during various meetings for works completed during the fellowship may be submitted to the AACS for review.
Academic Material: Fellows will have ample resources to AACS journals, Plastic Surgery journals and academic textbooks. Video material on implants and various other topics and procedures will be provided. Fellows are responsible for purchasing their own basic reference materials at a discounted rate from the publishers.
Opportunities to attend local lectures, advertising events and instructional seminars will be arranged.
